    【Exercise and Health Promotion

    Interdisciplinary Micro-Program

    【Mission】

    The Micro-Program in Exercise and Health Promotion connects courses across various general education disciplines and academic departments through core thematic issues. In response to societal changes and the advancement of knowledge, it integrates courses related to social responsibility, practical application, and self-directed learning to systematically map out various thematic micro-programs. The goal is to enhance students' interdisciplinary integration skills, cultivate STEAM talents, and lay a solid foundation for holistic education.
    Built upon this spirit, this program focuses specifically on public physical and mental well-being, the development of leisure activities, and non-competitive physical practices. It aims to guide students in actively applying the concepts of exercise and health promotion to their everyday lives.

    【Course Planning】

    Students must complete at least one course in each of the three domains—"Foundational Interdisciplinary Studies," "Thematic Issues," and "Practical Orientation"—within their chosen micro-course program, for a total of at least four courses. Additionally, they must achieve passing grades in these courses to qualify for the issuance of the program certificate.

    Center for General Education and Core Curriculum INTRODUCTION TO SPORTS AND LIFE This course aims to view the experience of personal life, from the food and clothing, such as child care and other aspects of orientation, links and sports are closely related to the importance of exploring and practice the sports brought about by the quality benefits and improve the quality of life.

    Natural Sciences (U Group)

    LIFE SCIENCES: THE SUBTLETY OF HUMAN BODY This course provides the background and guidance and clinical examples needed for the curious students to explore in depth the fundamental principles of how human body works; in so doing, it offers the tools needed not only to accord good treatment to their own bodies, but also form a sound habit of living disciplines.

    Social Analysis (W Group)

    POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY The movement of Positive Psychology has offered the discipline of psychology multiple thinking and strategies. This course will organize learning topics derived from theory, research, and practice, including well-being, cultivation of positive emotions, practices for savoring strategies within the ecological contexts of family, school, workplace, and socio-culture to enhance students to fulfill their learning goals through participation on campus learning activities and to be connected to the society
    Thematic Issues Learning and Development MOTIVATION AND STRESS MANAGEMENT Facing heavy pressure in life, students often feel confused or even depressed, which in turn affects their physical and mental health. This course aims to utilize positive psychology to guide students to understand the nature of stress, its effects and effective ways to cope with it. Through a variety of teaching methods, students will gradually discover their personal motivations, enhance their awareness of physical and mental health, enhance their ability to adapt, and transform stress into a positive force for growth.

    Thematic Issues

    Department of International Tourism Management NATURE AND FOREST THERAPY This practical course aims to provide students a unique learning experience (about 30% theory and 70% applications) and provide the services of forest therapy to different age groups as a key element for health tourism and green care. The course will involve outdoor sessions, mountainous hikes and physical strength from participants. Learners may need to cover partial costs of transportation, meals and learning materials
           
           
    Thematic Issues Arts Appreciation and Creation (M Group) DEVELOPING NONVERBAL EXPRESSION THROUGH DANCING ARTS Dance is human instinct and exists in life all the time. This course aims to lead students to regain the power of dancing that everyone has and to help them re-enjoy the fun of dancing and experience life itself. Accordingly, they can faithfully express the reality felt, conveying messages through nonverbal mindbody, and better understand themselves. Moreover, through the appreciation of contemporary dance art, humanistic and aesthetic qualities can be enhanced. Ultimately, through collective creation, they can increase mutual communication and problem-solving skills and stimulate creativity.

    Practical Orientation

    Arts Appreciation and Creation (M Group) INTRODUCTION TO WORLD DANCE AND PRACTICE This course explores dance as a cultural language, connecting the body, history, belief, and society. Through traditional dances from Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania, students will examine diverse cultural aesthetics, ritual meanings, and embodied vocabularies. The course includes video analysis, movement practice, and cultural discussion to foster dialogue between traditional and contemporary dance. No dance experience is required. Students will gradually develop embodied awareness and cultural understanding through a creative learning process and reflection.

    Practical Orientation

    Center for General Education and Core Curriculum MOUNTAINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL EXPLORATION This course features guest lectures, discussions, and practical exercises to introduce students to mountain activities in Taiwan. It focuses on establishing safe hiking practices, fostering a passion for hiking, and developing lifelong fitness habits. Students will enhance their independent thinking, promote ecological protection, and acquire essential skills for mountain hiking.

    SPORTS VOLUNTEER AND SOCIAL SERVICE This course is for coinciding sports volunteers . Moreover it integrates social resources and encourages students to participate sports volunteers for developing the moral of volunteers’ service and facilitating sports development.
